Ron has taught Law and Planning at the University of Toronto Law School, and Public Law for the Law Society of Upper Canada in the Bar Admission Course.  He has spoken at numerous continuing education programs on municipal and planning topics.  Ron has served as Chair of the Municipal and Infrastructure Committees of the Toronto Board of Trade, and the City of Toronto Casa Loma Advisory Committee.

Ron practices planning and municipal law for landowners, developers, builders, institutions and residents. He appears regularly before municipal councils, the Toronto Local Appeal Body and Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (previously the OMB) and courts on municipal and development matters, and has obtained approvals for residential, commercial, industrial and recreational projects. Ron also acts as an arbitrator and mediator in municipal and planning matters.

Ron has more than 28 years of experience in private practice.  He currently sits on the Tarion Builder Arbitration roster, and previously served as a municipal councillor and provincial legislator. Ron’s expertise led to Macdonald Sager Manis being named “1of the top 20 development law firms in Toronto.” Ron is also frequently asked to comment on municipal & planning matters by the media.
